Japanese Timber Series

For many centuries in Japan, HINOKI is regarded as a highly valued species of timber due to its durability and refreshing fragrance. It has phytoncide effects which naturally releases a beautiful scent that replicates the ambience of a forest.

The natural oils of HINOKI repells against insects including termites and prevents the wood from rotting fungi. HINOKI is also known to purify the surrounding air and produces a natural wax on the surface.

Hinoki has been used for many centuries in Japan and continues to be used in today’s construction of temples, homes and buildings alike. Typical applications used are for structural beams, flooring, architectural panelling solutions, SHOJI screens/doors, bath tubs, furniture and special wooden artifacts.
